Hi, I'm Klem
I design and research human interaction with quantum technologies.
With a background in design leadership and creative tech, I help organizations build engaging, user-centered products and experiences.
QUANTUM COMPUTING
My primary focus is on making quantum computing more accessible through user-centered design solutions.
In 2019, I joined a group at the Centre for Quantum Technologies (National University of Singapore) as a visiting designer, where we created an educational game to teach quantum physics. This work sparked the co-founding of Quantum Flytrap, a project that developed no-code quantum interfaces like the Virtual Lab, now used to teach quantum information at institutions such as the University of Oxford, Stanford University, and NYU.
In 2022, I led the Quantum Flytrap team in the design and development of Pulser Studio, a visual programming platform for neutral atom QPUs, built for Pasqal. I later collaborated with Xanadu and Pennylane on an open-access library of quantum datasets for quantum machine learning.
Currently, I’m the Head of Design at Classic Technologies, a quantum software startup. I lead the design of Classiq's quantum algorithm development platform, which includes graphical user interfaces helping engineers and researchers build and execute complex quantum circuits more intuitively.
CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY
In my work I also exploring novel ways of human-computer interaction (HCI).
An AI-related online experience I co-created was showcased at Ars Electronica, and I participated in an invitation-only project by the MIT Media Lab that explored intersections of music, play, and technology.
At Jankiewicz Studio, we designed creative technology installations, including creative tech objects to commemorate science fiction author Stanislaw Lem. My interactive electronic installation was used in the theater play and research project Roja.
As a lecturer at the Creative Coding Department at SWPS University in Warsaw, I taught students how to build experimental projects using code and technology.
DESIGN DIRECTION
I co-founded Jankiewicz Studio with Klara Jankiewicz, who now leads the practice. Together, we’ve created projects, products, and experiences for many Polish cultural institutions, including a permanent design for the entire facade of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
Earlier in my career, I worked as a designer and branding consultant for organizations such as UC Irvine, Hebrew University, the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, and JW3 London.
My work has been featured at design events and exhibitions around the world, including ICFF New York, 100% Design London and Tokyo, New York Maker Faire, and Seoul Design Week.
